Sulamani temple in Bagan is truely striking and is one of the more popular ones to visit with some wonderfully intricate carvings and significant murals. It was built in 1181 by Narapatisithu (1174-1211) and is known as "crowing jewel" as part of many thousands of temples in the plains around Old Bagan. Having survived many of the recent earthquakes it's distinctive style and prominence means it is also a popular site to catch in sunrise and sunset photos!
