Morning light over the Registan in Samarkand, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia. At the heart of this ancient Silk Road city there were these three schools / madrasahs - the Ulugh Beg Madrasah (1417–1420), the Tilya-Kori Madrasah (1646–1660) and the Sher-Dor Madrasah (1619–1636)
